Action Marathon
We celebrated the release of John Wick 2 by breaking out the big guns. We tried to choose a wide variety of films that contain all the expected things from a good action film- blood, guts, bullets spraying, and fun banter. Action movies are all over the map with different sub-genres all nestled under the umbrella of Action. For our first marathon of 2017, The Marathon Men chose movies that are considered some of the best, if not THE best in their respective sub-category. What movies did we marathon? Representing the new millennium, and considered the two best action movies of the 21st century, we chose The Raid: Redemption and Mad Max: Fury Road. Representing the classics, and considered two of the best action movies of all time, we chose Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Die Hard. Representing John Woo, a legend of the action genre, we chose his Hong Kong masterpiece Hard Boiled. And representing all genres of action and considered a gateway for martial-arts movies, we chose The Wachowskis' The Matrix. Let's talk about movies.
Side Note: Hard Boiled features 300+ kills!
