In our Versus and Marathons, individual Golden Idols are awarded in several categories. The overall winner of a Versus or Marathon becomes a Golden Idol Winner, and has the chance to be kicked up for Pantheon consideration, pending a unanimous vote at the table. We chose the Golden Idol as our award because it is the artifact that Indiana Jones obtains at the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark. As such, it is a golden statue that we can really admire, and we believe it sets us apart from other award organizations 😉.
